Relief's Tool Path Generation in Artcam

 

Artcam is quite commonly used relief software.

Now, we kindly introduce the relief's tool path generation in Artcam.

 

First, when we open Artcam, we can see two options: "Produce new model" and "Produce model by image".

We select "Produce model by image", then choose the image needed to engrave. After opening the image, system will prompt that set up model dimension.

We can adjust image's height or width below the image size. The height in Z-axis is the total depth of embossment.

 

Then, set tool path origin.

We have five points available. Usually set the center or lower left corner is ok.

 

After amending all the data, click "Accept" to preview 3D effect.

If appears out of proportion, you can re-adjust related size.

 

The next, generate program, which is known as tool path generation.

Find "3D tool path generation" option below the path, the first option is relief processing.

 

Below the relief processing option, we can select end mill bit, set materials, etc. At last, click "Now". Then, the computer will do tool path generation automatically.

Save it after all tool path generation had been finished.

Take care to the save format as "*.mmg".

 

Finally, load the tool path generated into cnc router and start processing.
