4 Factors of Milling Data

4 Factors of Milling Data

What are the key elements of milling data?

1.    Cutting speed -

It means the linear velocity in the place of biggest diameter.

2.    Feed rate or feeding -

(1)  Plunge speed:

The instantaneous velocity, which is the selected point on cutter blade, relatives to workpiece feed motion.

(2)  Feeding:

In the moving direction, the movement amount of work piece relatives to router bits.

(3)  By different per unit time, there are three measuring methods for milling data:

     Per tooth (mm/z);

     Every turn (mm/r);

     Each minute (mm/min).

3.    Back engagement -

The measured sizes of cutting lay, which are parallel to axial direction of solid carbide cutters.

4.    Milling width -

The metrical dimensions of cut level, which are vertical to axis orientation of cnc milling cutting tools.
