Demands after CNC Clamping

What are the demands after CNC clamping?

We can do as below.

1.    Try to shorten the protruding length of cnc tools as much as possible.

Also, keep straight router bit clean.

(1)  The extending length is determined by engraving depth, work piece and router collets.

(2)  Under the same cutting force, the longer, the larger deformation is; this will increase circular run-out and reduce cnc tool life.

Meanwhile, it makes a big difference to smooth finish.

(3)  Pay attention to the cutter cleanliness.

Dust greatly affects tool life.

2.    Cnc clamping must meet the demands: firm, precise and good combination of tool and collet.

(1)  Firm: cnc clamping tools should not have floating place.

Weak cnc clamping is the first vibration source that cause cutting tool vibration while processing.

(2)  Subjected to collet deformation, afterwards insert 3 flute end mill. This can reduce runout.

(3)  Besides, note the intensity while cnc clamping. It is not to say the larger the better.

By experiment validation, reasonable clamp force can reduce runout by 20%. This needs to sum up by many tests, finally find the suitable force.

3.    Before cnc clamping, ensure to rightly define the origin of X, Y and Z axis.

After replacing router bits, must redefine the origin of z axis.

Warm note: not to change starting point of x and y axis.

4.    Additionally, be careful when install router bits. Don't hurt yourself and machine.

5.    After cnc clamping, make a trial cutting one or two times first.

6.    While removing tools, not use pushing way to loosen screw nut, but rotation method.
