How to know if router bits wear out?
You can judge from the following respects:
1. Judging whether router bits wear out and wear amount, the most direct method is listening:
(1) If cutting sound is very heavy, screaming or shrill, it means the work state of CNC tools is abnormal;
(2) If ruling out the problems as below, you can judge that router bits are worn;
① Router bits quality problem itself;
② Tools installation problem;
③ Cutter Setting problem;
(3) Now, you have to suspend cnc router, and replace new slotting cutter;
2. See the cut process:
If cutting is irregular and not in normal state obviously, it proves that router bits wear out;
3. Judge router bits wear out by motion state in cnc process:
(1) If the parameter setting is reasonable, such as machining parameters and cutting parameters;
(2) Exists vibration in machining operation;
(3) With a droning sound;
Right now, we can confirm that sintered cutters have reached to a rapid wear state, and need replacing;
4. Observe machine loading:
When the machine load is increased significantly, it states that router bits wear out;
(Except the situation when cnc spindle is increasing or reducing speed)
5. If ball endmill is not in work state, you can judge by observing:
(1) Whether cutter blade is tipping;
(2) Clear signs of wear;
(3) If has a sharp edge;
(4) The blade edge has changed;
6. To bulk processing, the most common way is to note down the lifetime of each cnc router bit.
So you can detect whether router bits wear out according to tool life;
7. When tool wear to a certain extent, it will become very obvious that:
(1) The cutting force is enlarged;
(2) The cutting temperature is rising;
(3) The cutting color is changed;
(4) Even happen vibration;
(5) Meanwhile, the workpiece dimension maybe beyond the tolerance zone;
(6) Machined surface quality is worsening markedly;
In short – observe, listen and touch are the fastest and more direct judging method!
