How to Select CNC Spindle

For now, CNC spindle is frequency brushless motor generally, which is with high precision and long service life.

So, how to select CNC spindle?

It mainly based on the following considerations:

1.   Spindle bearing consideration on selecting cnc spindle:

Check spindle motor if with high-speed bearing;

If not, cnc router spindle will overheating after long-time and high-speed rotate, which will affect router spindle lifetime;

2.   Rotating in different speed:

When select cnc spindle, please rotate it in different speed, especially in high speed, to see the sound of cnc spindle if harmonious and evenly;

3.   See if radial runout of Spindle is under stress condition:

(1)  Key reference:

Whether machine spindles can cut hard materials in high speed;

(2)  Some CNC spindles can cut hard materials only in very low speed;

If in high-speed, it will happen:

a)   Serious slippage, even accident;

b)   Affect spindle accuracy after a time;

4.   Spindle power consideration when select cnc spindle:

(1)    If prefer high speed, high efficiency and deep cutting depth, such as cut solid wooden materials, spindle power should be at least bigger than 2.2KW;

(2)    If process stone materials:

Headstone/ granite/ marble/ monument/ ceramic/ brick/ glass, etc,

Spindle power is better > or = 3.0KW;

5.   Spindle brand to select cnc spindle:

We suggest two famous brands from customers’ feedback:

(1)    Water cooled spindle: STAR brand made in Jiangsu Province, China;

(2)    Air cooled spindle: made in Italy, such as HSD spindle;

6.   Selecting different cnc spindles also depends on various router configuration, then choose suitable CNC tools accordingly;
