Using Router Bits Correctly

To the equipment with cnc router spindle rotating, such as stone router machine, driller, lathe, miller, and so on, they all have strict requirement on using router bits correctly.

Only if we follow the demand strictly can guarantee safe production.

1.    CNC tools design on using router bits correctly:

(1)  Cnc tools are designed specially for hand-held devices, desktop machine tools and different kinds of stone cnc router.

(2)  In principle, all cnc engraving tools are designed in clockwise direction;

2.    Mechanical property on using router bits:

Cnc machine should with good mechanical capacity, no swing and vibration;

3.    Select suitable router collets & collet adapter on using router bits properly:

Those collets, which has section, not quite round, had been wear out or inner hole with taper, don't have enough intensify force.

We should replace new router collets avoiding tool holder vibrate, fly off or twist off;

4.    Tool shank and collets should have a good connection:

(1)  Tool shank should fully inserted into collet, and tighten firmly;

(2)  After clamping, if the contacting trace of tool holder is not even, or have grooves, it states slippage or deformation, should change new collets at once.

5.    Don't continue to use stone drilling tools if had been blunted:

If continue using, it will increase cutting torsion on the cutter body, thereby exceed bearing capacity, lead to tool breakup or produce unexpected results.

6.    Workpiece aspect on proper using router bits:

When straightness and curve is very large, it will affect tool life.

Especially when cutting depth is greater than cutting thickness of cutting edge,  cutter body excepts cutting edge will product high temperature while contacting with work piece, causing deformation and tool breakage, even produce tool accident;

7.    Body, clothes and hair should not close to workpiece during processing;
